BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE 19 th c QI’ING DYNASTY CHINESE EMBROIDERED PANEL, FINE EMBROIDERY 136 cm x 90 cm! It was most likely made out of front and back panels of an informal Chinese lady robe. On a midnight blue satin silk material embroidered in bright multi- colored silk threads and golden metallic threads using satin stitched and forbidden stitches (Peking knot); couching technique using golden metallic threads. Features beautiful blooming flowers, plants, flying butterflies, and Buddhist auspicious symbols. Lined with raspberry color silk lining. Extremely finely worked pieces- just look at the pictures! The beautiful panel measures 53.5 (136 cm) long x 35 2/8 (90 cm) wide. Condition: fair antique condition with some damages to the silk material and losses to the threads of the embroidery (see pictures).
